Seek & You WIll Find Him

John 3:8 “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit” (NIV).

Think back to a time in which you felt the wind brushing up against you. Whether it was on a scorching hot summer day, or chilly winter morning, at some point you felt the gentle (or harsh) wind reminding you of its presence. Although we can feel the wind, we are unable to see it surging through the air and actively working to supply the earth’s needs.

Similarly, in the current era we are unable to physically see God, yet we are still able to feel His presence. Like the wind, God the Holy Spirit is actively present within our lives and working aimlessly to supply us in every need. However, there are times we feel as if God is not there or simply fail to acknowledge His presence in our lives. For some, the inability to see God translates to a nonexistent God. But for people of Faith, it is quite the opposite.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV) says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

In the same way we seek earnestly to discover the wonders of the world, we should take that same desire and sincerity to seek God and all his glories. Though you may not see omnipresent God, you can certainly feel His presence.

Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” (NIV)

Remain humble and earnestly ask God to reveal Himself to you and dwell in His presence. We cannot see tiny molecules with the naked eye, but through a microscope we begin to see those tiny molecules moving about. Let scripture and prayer be your microscope to seeing God move in your life.

By taking up your Bible and communicating with God purely from the heart, I assure you His presence shall be known. Just like the wind, God is here waiting to notify you of His presence and give you that fresh gush of air. All you have to do is seek and you will find Him!
